SYNOPSIS OF BOOKS
Estate Planning for Muslims
This book focuses on the tools in wealth / estate transfer that are permissible in the Shariah. The differences in each tool are tabled for easy comparison by the reader. Most of the cases referred to are related to the Singapore situation. It also covers the importance and need for Muslims to do Estate Planning. Today, most Muslims do not do estate planning due to the lack of understanding of this subject. The book was written to help simplify the understanding of this subject at the layman level. We believe this book will create the awareness of the issues faced by Muslims in a secular state, like Singapore. It also helps to introduce new and innovative tools for Muslims in estate planning.
Isu-Isu Harta Pusaka
Joint-Tenancy in Muslim Law
This is the first book which touches on critical issues within the Muslim community in Singapore. Many widows have become victims, taken advantage of by people using the Faraid to gain an unfair claim over property left to the widows. Rasulullah pbuh. warns that taking a piece of property that is meant for someone else is akin to taking a piece of fire-stone from the Hell-Fire. This should be taken in mind by all parties involved in any property dispute. The issue on “Joint-Tenancy” is one in which the law regarding it has to be understood according to the civil perspective and the Syariah and not just the Faraid. It is our hope that with this book, the Muslim community will come to see the need to respect the desire of the deceased and avoid disputes over property which may result in the breakdown of family relationships. This is the first book in the series of books on property issues that are to be written by us, InsyaAllah. All of the books will be written in simple English. The stories are based on real-life experiences and readers can take them as examples to aid in the understanding of the principles and laws which will be discussed. Wallahualam Bissawab.
Wallahualam Bissawab.
Personal Wealth Management for Muslims
This book focuses on the concept of managing wealth based on Syariah and presents tools in personal wealth management that are available in a country where the financial system is governed by the Conventional system. The current practice on financial planning as advised by today’s financial advisors is not in accordance with Syariah. This book will also help the readers and financial advisors to understand the Conventional financial products, like insurance and investment from Syariah perspective. It also advice the readers on how to accept the utilization of the Conventional products as required by Syariah. Understanding the necessity of the need and the reasons why Muslims should adopt the Conventional products and the need to manage their wealth based on Syariah are also mentioned here. The summary on study made on the Muslims in Singapore pertaining to wealth management based on Syariah also helps us to understand the attitude and behaviour of Muslims in Singapore in practicing wealth management. This book is a continuation of the previous book on Estate Planning for Muslims (ISBN: 981-05-1570-7) and an introductory to a new book on Zakat. This book was written to help simplify the understanding of PWMM at the layman level. We believe this book will create the awareness and the acceptance of the current Conventional system of the wealth management by a Muslim in a secular state like Singapore.
